What is a Certificate of Origin?

A Certificate of Origin is a document issued by an exporting country to confirm that the goods in question have met the origin criteria to be considered as “originating” in that country, based on the Rules of Origin guidelines set out in a trade agreement. It serves as a proof of origin for a good(s) under a specified trade agreement.
