Sufferance Wharves are approved by the Minister of Finance, and is designated for loading and unloading a particular type of cargo. The main customs activity is the monitoring of vessels that go into the ports to load/unload cargo and proceed to another destination. As an exception, a vessel can report for repairs, bunkering (the supply of fuels to ship) and crew change. Among the items offloaded at Sufferance Wharves are: fuel of all types, bulk cement, limestone, wheat, rice and bulk corn.

- Clarendon- Rocky Point (I removed Port Esquivel as it is in St. Catherine. See at bottom).

- St. Thomas – Bowden Pen
- St. Elizabeth – Black River (Port Hendricks Pier), Alpart
- St. Ann – Port Kaiser
- Trelawny – Rio Bueno
- St. Catherine – Port Esquivel
